“This realy is an important project to me, the subject matter is very close to my heart. I wrote this film with the producer of my sobriety podcast, Jonathan Kogan, during the first year of my sobriety, in the trenches of addiction, battling my thoughts every day, it’s coming out in this script. Me and Jonathan filmed a podcast together with a mental health or addiction specialist every week, for a year, 52 in total to rea ly get into the thinking for this film; it had mi lions and mi lions of views and helped thousands of people. Those podcasts and writing this film got me sober, I believe it will do the same for many more and even save lives when it’s released.

 

Just before I got sober I rea ly was struggling with my mental health and was talking about it a-lot online; this got a huge response, a lot of men were going through a similar thing and reached out to me. I couldn’t talk to everyone so I set up a page on Facebook, where we could a l discuss it together ca led 'Men And Their Emotions' (M.A.T.E) an accessible, open and supportive group for MEN to post their feelings, thoughts and current life issues. Upon seeing the responses from men around the world to some of the posts on the group, I was blown away and continue to be touched by the kindness and support offered by strangers. The group is made up of 46,000 men and continues to grow in size & strength. It’s in these conversations I pu led real life experience for this film, what men are rea ly going through and need to discuss. “Sessions” talks about the real reason behind addiction, suicide in young men, domestic abuse, the loss of the family unit, but ultimately, men’s mental health, in real, gritty, honest terms.

 

It's funny in places, heart breaking in others, but it’s written to be entertaining and commercial, to ensure it’s also good business. Although we are making it for a sensible budget, be assured that won’t affect the quality of the film. You can’t guarantee this type of investment, but as a creative social media influencer and comedian I do have a unique advantage that will get us as close to a guarantee as possible. Millions of followers that have followed my journey through the struggles laid out in this film. Millions of people that have been on a similar one. These people that will support, share & buy the film, so if Netflix or Amazon don’t swoop in and buy the film for loads of money we have a fail safe, tried and tested back up plan, recouping funds and generating profit for you investors from my fan base. I understand making money is important to the investor, as it is me, but my passion rea ly is helping people that are struggling with entertaining, relatable content. I believe I have a real ability to connect with people and change lives; I see it when I meet the people at my tour shows. I’ve had 23 se l out shows in a row, just extended the tour to 45 dates, sold over 20,000 tickets, this is a l support right there at our fingertips. My stories and the way I te l them help people and this is my proudest, most passionate and honest piece of work yet and I intend to make it the best thing I’ve ever created.
